Local business Milton Lamb needed a personal, thoughtful logo upgrade and they needed it swiftly.
A Sense of Place
Tim Wood, founder of Milton Lamb was eager to incorporate a strong sense of place into his logo and any accompanying branding.
The final logo features a custom illustration of local landmark ‘the Castle’, which is visible from Tawillah Farm, the home of Milton Lamb.
The alignment of the text is organic, matching the curves of the illustration, which gives it an honest, softer look.
Milton Lamb is based at Tawillah Farm, Milton. At the farm, gorgeous Australian Whites roam the paddocks under Tim’s watchful eye.
I hope they enjoy the truly spectacular view!
Sky, Land and Sea.
The colour palette for the new Milton Lamb logo was carefully selected to reflect not only the broad natural landscape but also the rosemary which grows around Tawillah Farm (and which Tim often gifts to people alongside their incredible cuts of local lamb at farmers markets!)
Settling on just the right shades of green and blue was vital to the success of the logo.
Are you ready for some succulent science?
Milton Lamb is absolutely incredible and there is a good reason for the reference to Wagyu beef in their full logo lockup.
The fat melting point of most sheep breeds starts at approximately 40 degrees, whereas the melting point of the Australian White is about 33 to 35 degrees. This means that the melting point/fat composition of Australian Whites is just as good, if not perhaps better, than Wagyu beef.

A Typographic Tradition
This sexy stencil typeface was selected specifically to reference the traditional stencils applied to wool bales across Australia. I have memories of such wool bales from visits to sheep stations with my family, while Tim has more first-hand experience.
As a subtle nod to the history of Australia’s wool industry, and to Tim’s previous work on large sheep stations, this typeface from Para-scope Design and Type (USA) felt like a great fit for Milton Lamb.
